Today, the festive event dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Minsk Tractor Plant is held in Belarus. As part of this event, many units of agricultural equipment were shown to the general public, ranging from old models and ending with modern tractors. The nail of the program was the Mackety Sample of the Autonomous Tractor BELARUS 3523I.
The novelty was developed by the joint efforts of engineers of design and experimental work No. 1 of the Minsk Tractor Plant and Specialists of the Joint Institute of Mechanical Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. In the design of the tractor, it is not provided with a cab, because it is capable of functioning completely autonomously.
The developers equipped the machine with a diesel engine with a capacity of 350 horsepower, transmission with a gearbox and an electromechanical drive, which provides stepless speed control. Also, the front and rear hinged devices are highly lifting, front and rear power take-off shafts.
At the site of the usual cabin installed antenna, under which the developers have placed hardware solutions for communication and control of the machine. According to the data available, the new tractor is designed to perform the tasks generated by the operator that can be transmitted remotely through a cellular bond or on a removable medium. It is noted that the Belarus 3523i is equally efficiently working both in the day and at night.
Developers involved in the new tractor’s own autonomous control system, allowing to carry out remote control of the performance and management of all systems, nodes and aggregates of the machine. During operation, the tractor independently processes the data coming from the sensors and makes decisions in order to avoid collisions with obstacles. When the fuel ends, the tractor is automatically sent to refueling.
According to developers, Belarus 3523i allows to significantly reduce fuel consumption, and the hybrid electrical installation used in its design makes it possible to reduce the emissions of harmful substances 10 times compared to conventional tractors.
