Today’s hints from skateboarder Tony Hawk turned out to be unambiguous: Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 will indeed be released on new platforms.
As it became known, a collection of remakes of the first two parts of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater will go on sale for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, as well as Nintendo Switch.
Versions for the current generation of consoles will become available next month – March 26 – and the edition for the Nintendo hybrid console has only 2021 instead of a release date.
Owners of PS4 and Xbox One will only be able to upgrade their copies of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 to versions for new consoles if they purchase an extended edition. Basic kit buyers will have to pay 0.
Along with the upgrade, users will receive the secret skateboarder Ripper, alternate skins for Tony Hawke, Steve Caballero and Rodney Mullen, and equipment for the Create-A-Skater mode.
On consoles of the new generation, the collection will be able to work in two modes:
- With an emphasis on resolution – full 4K (PS5, Xbox Series X) or 1440p (Xbox Series S) at 60 fps;
- With a focus on performance – 1080p @ 120fps.
Compilation Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 debuted in September 2020 on PC (Epic Games Store), PS4 and Xbox One. By the middle of the same month, project sales exceeded 1 million copies.
