HP has announced the S750 Series Solid State Drives (SSDs), designed for the mass consumer market: devices can be installed on desktop and laptop computers, as well as ultrabooks.
New items are made in a 2.5-inch form factor, and the SATA 3.0 interface with a bandwidth of up to 6 Gb / s is used to connect. The SMI controller and 96-layer 3D NAND flash microchips are used.
There are three models in the series – with a capacity of 256 and 512 GB, as well as 1 TB. The sequential read speed of all versions reaches 560 MB / s, the sequential write speed – 520 MB / s.
The random read / write IOPS (I / O operations per second) is up to 55 000/79 000 for the younger model, up to 90 000/89 000 for the 512 GB version and up to 74 000/80 000 for the older version.
The drives are 100 × 70 × 6.7 mm in size and weigh no more than 50 g. The average time between failures (MTBF) reaches 2 million hours. Manufacturer’s warranty is three years.
