The organizers of the Annual International Exhibition IFA – Messe Berlin and GFU Consumer & Home Electronics GmbH decided to abandon the event this year in the traditional offline format.
Recall that IFA (INTERNATIONALE FUNKAUSSTELLUNG) is one of the oldest industrial exhibitions in Germany and one of the largest shopping shows of the world. The history of the event dedicated to the innovations of the household electronics market is rooted in 1924.
Refusal from IFA 2021 is explained by a continuing pandemic. After comprehensive consultations with experts in the field of health and thorough assessment of tendencies, the organizers concluded that the epidemiological situation is still stabilized as quickly as expected. In addition, there are uncertainty about the implementation of vaccination programs in a number of regions.
Another reason is that Messe Berlin supports the fight against coronavirus: part of the exhibition space is highlighted under vaccination and emergency centers. And in the current situation, the reverse transformation time is likely to be delayed.
Finally, due to the pandemic, it is difficult to plan investments in advance in advance, flights between countries and solve other organizational issues.
Therefore, in the traditional full-time format, the IFA exhibition will be passed only next year – from 2 to 6 September 2022.
