Last month, Intel’s plans to release updated versions of Tiger Lake-U mobile processors were reported. At that time, nothing was said about the alleged dates of the launch of new chips, but only it was indicated that the refresh versions of the processors will appear this year. As it turned out, some retailers have already begun to take pre-orders for the first laptops equipped with updated processors, although they were not officially presented.
Two MSI Summit E16 Flip EVO laptop models were found in the Xotic PC online store. The novelties are equipped with 16-inch displays with QHD resolution and use the updated Intel Tiger Lake Refresh processors. Discrete video cards of laptops cannot be offered, so for the processing of graphics they correspond to the Intel IRIS XE graphics kernels with 96 enforcement blocks in the CPU.
MSI Summit E16 Flip EVO model based on Intel Core i7-1195G7 is estimated at $ 1699. The Core i5-1155G7 database version has a price tag at $ 1499. Both new products are available for pre-order.
The retailer also indicated the specifications of updated processors. Both chip four-core, capable of processing eight virtual streams. The Core i7-1195G7 model has a base frequency of 2.9 GHz. In automatic overclocking mode, it rises to 5.0 GHz. At the moment, this is the only of the well-known Tiger Lake series processors capable of take such frequency. The basic frequency of the younger model Core i5-1155G7 is 2.5 GHz, which is 100 MHz lower than that of the original model Core i5-1145G7. However, the turbo-frequency of the chip is higher on the same 100 MHz and is 4.5 GHz.
MSI is not the only manufacturer, going to update its laptops with fresh models of Tiger Lake Refresh processors. For example, the ITHOME portal said that Lenovo prepares the updated versions of their AIR 14 and Air 15 laptops based on Core i5-1155G7.
