International Data Corporation (IDC) announced a fresh forecast for the global market of smartphones: the industry began to restore after the strike of the coronavirus, due to which sales decreased last year.
Analysts believe that in 2021, global supplies of smart cellular devices will reach 1.38 billion pieces. If this forecast is justified, the growth in relation to last year will be at the level of 7.7%.
IDC notes that the development of cellular networks of the fifth generation contributes to the growth of the market. In developing regions, there is a fairly high demand for 4G smartphones of medium and initial levels.
According to forecasts, this year shipment of apparatus with support 5G will jump almost 130% compared with last year. At the same time, the average cost of 5G devices running Android will be reduced by 12% year in annual terms – up to $ 456.
In 2022, the global market for smartphones, as experts believe, will increase by 3.8% – to 1.43 billion units. In the period up to 2025, the CAGR indicator (average annual growth rate in complex percentages) is projected at 3.7%.
