The website of the China Telecommunications Equipment Certification Authority (TENAA) has released information about the new Nokia smartphone, which is being prepared for release by HMD Global.
The device is codenamed TA-1258. It is known to be equipped with a 5.99-inch display. A rechargeable battery with a capacity of 3040 mAh is responsible for power supply. In addition, the dimensions of the device are indicated – 159.6 × 77.5 × 8.5 mm.
Observers believe that HMD Global will soon announce a new mid-range smartphone. Mysterious model TA-1258 may enter the Nokia 2, Nokia 3 or even Nokia 4 family.
It is also noted that the other day in the GeekBench database there was information about a Nokia smartphone based on the MediaTek Helio P22 processor. This chip contains eight ARM Cortex-A53 computing cores clocked at up to 2.0 GHz, IMG PowerVR GE8320 graphics accelerator and an LTE cellular modem. It is known that the device carries 2 GB of RAM on board, and the Android 10 operating system is used as a software platform. Presumably, the device is endowed with an HD + display.
According to Counterpoint Research estimates, in the first quarter of this year, HMD Global managed to sell only about 1.7 million Nokia devices. On an annualized basis, sales fell by almost one and a half times – by 45.2%.
