ASUS has released a dual-band ROG STRIX GS-AX5400 router optimized for online games. For the first time, the novelty was presented at the exhibition CES 2021 at the beginning of the year. The device offers support for Wi-Fi 6 (802.11AX) and channel widths of 160 Hz, equipped with a combined bandwidth at a speed of up to 5400 Mbps – up to 574 Mbps in a range of 2.4 GHz and up to 4804 Mbit / s in the range of 5 GHz.
The router is based on the BCM6750 truder processor, as well as the highlighted BCM43684 chip to support the range of 5 GHz. In addition, the device received 256 MB of flash memory and 512 MB of RAM.
The novelty has built-in logic to determine the priority of game traffic and reduce delays in data transmission. The presence of the VPN Fusion function allows you to simultaneously use the VPN and the usual Internet connection. This can be useful when you want to install a VPN connection only on selected devices or for certain applications, but at the same time save the usual connection with minimal delays. Also for the novelty, the Gear Accelerator features are declared, OpenNat (port forwarding for some games) and the built-in information security system AIPROTECTION Pro based on Trend Micro technology
The ASUS ROG STRIX GS-AX5400 includes one gigabit WAN-port and four gigabit LAN connector. In addition, the device has one connector USB 3.2. An additional feature of the novelty is the built-in AURA backlight. It supports a lot of light effects with flexible adjustment, and also allows you to tie certain effects to certain modes of operation of the device.
