The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia approved telecom operators to conclude an agreement aimed at co-constructing cellular networks of the fifth generation (5G).
The petition was sent to FAS by Rostelecom, Bashinformsvyaz, VimpelCom and MegaFon. Communication operators participating in the transaction will develop and agree with the antimonopoly authority the use of infrastructure and (or) radio frequency sharing during the development of 5G services.
In addition, the Agreement will define the conditions for providing communication infrastructure for mobile virtual operators (MVNO). The document provides for equal access to radio frequencies for all participants in the mobile radiotelephone market.

The agreement should contribute to the acceleration of the development of mobile services of the fifth generation in Russia. The Antimonopoly Statement agreed on the transaction with accounting provided guarantees of access of telecom operators to the released radio frequency spectrum.
