The State Corporation Roscosmos reports that in the Mounting and Testing Corps of the site No. 254 of the Baikonur cosmodrome, the work on the detection of the Transport Cargo Ship “Progress MS-17”, which next month will be launched under the program of the International Space Station (ISS).
The named apparatus was in storage mode after delivery to the technical complex on March 10, 2020. The ship has to be delivered in orbit 2.5 tons of various goods, including fuel, compressed gases, food, water and equipment.
It is reported that the device is already installed on the stapel: experts conducted its external inspection and control of the original state of the on-board systems, and also prepared for the upcoming tests and testing of the tightness of the thermal regime system. From today, all-round testing and preparation of the “truck” starts to start.
The launch of the ship from the Baikonur cosmodrome is scheduled for June 30 through the Soyuz-2.1a rocket. This apparatus will be to prepare the ISS to meet the last Russian block – the node module “Pier”. Its conclusion in orbit is scheduled for the end of the autumn of the current year: the launch will be carried out on November 24 from Baikonur using the Soyuz-2.1B media.
