For users of the Android 12 operating system, the extraction of emergency will be much easier thanks to a new special function. Now you can call for the rescue, it will be literally a few presses of the button.
As the developers reported during Google I / O Developer Conference, in the version of Android 12 Beta 1 available for download, the Emergency SOS function is now much easier than in Google’s earlier generation operating systems.
In order to call for help, it will be enough to quickly press the smartphone power button five times, after which a five-second countdown will begin on the screen. During this time, you can change and cancel the swipe operation.
It is noteworthy that the EMERGENCY SOS function uses the number 911 to call, but it can be quickly changed to another allocated by government agencies in the user’s country. It is known that the fast SOS signal feed function disappeared from the previous Android 12 releases for developers, but returned in the BETA version 1, and it is active by default.
The function resembles a similar solution in Apple iOS and has the same name. In IOS, the Emergency SOS signal is sent long by pressing the power button. In addition, IOS users can configure emergency contacts using text messages after the end of the call, and the device’s satellite coordinates are sent to affordable contacts – this option is not available in Android.
