The German portal Igor’s Lab shared fresh information about the future Intel DG2 gamecards on the productive XE-HPG architecture. In particular, the resource received a slide from an unnamed source confirming earlier rumors about the technical characteristics of expected graphics accelerators.
Intel plans to release five different options for graphic processors of the XE-HPG series. Three of them will be used in powerful discrete video cards, as well as productive laptops, two remaining – as part of simpler laptops, as well as in discrete video cards of the initial segment. The level of energy consumption of future video cards is still unknown. However, the source indicates that in the mobile segment at least three options will have the declared TDP at the level of 100 or more watts.
The new slide published by Igor’s Lab portal also confirms that all models of graphic processors will be equipped with a different number of executive blocks. In addition, they will use two layouts – BGA 2660 and BGA 1379. Chips in their execution will have a different area. True at the moment it is not known whether Intel really is going to release the most productive option with 512 executive blocks and in what order the company will submit the above options.
If you believe the past leaks, the announcement of the younger options SKU4 and SKU5 is expected at the end of this year. They will be presented together with the announcement of the new generation of Alder Lake-P processors. The launch of SKU1-SKU3 options in turn is expected not earlier than the first quarter of 2022. The German resource also published a table with all currently known characteristics of future intel DG2 video cards:
